Travelers driving between Newman and Port Hedland recently have become unexpected spectators due to delays on the Great Northern Highway caused by the transit of some very large loads. The loads are made up of components for the ore processing plant upgrade at Yandi and delays along the highway can be expected until the 30th July.

The diamentions of the load pictured are huge, with the overall length of 78 metres, width of 10.5 metres and a height 9 metres. The platform used to carry the components has 26 rows of 16 wheels and is being moved by two prime movers at the front and one at the rear. Mainroads WA ask for your patience during the passage of the loads which may cause delays of 45 minutes.
